In Calvert County, even interior work usually means a permit: the county's permit pages say a residential interior alteration requires a building permit. Electrical work needs its own permit filed by a licensed master electrician, and plumbing or gas work needs one filed by a licensed master plumber. The county also says that if you hire a builder, the builder has to be licensed — and it points homeowners to the MHIC license lookup. Ours is #118450.
If your Huntingtown home runs on a well or septic system, Calvert County sends the permit through an Environmental Health review, and the scope of work decides whether more is needed. The Health Department asks for detailed floor plans that show both the existing and the proposed layout for any remodel. We draw those plans as part of the job, so the review isn't waiting on paperwork.
Inside the Huntingtown town center, changes to exterior features — windows, doors, siding — need Architectural Review Approval, separate from the building permit. Most kitchens never touch this. But if yours adds a window, enlarges one, or puts in a door to a deck, we flag it at the estimate.
We also work in Dunkirk and Owings. See our kitchen remodeling in Calvert County page and every area we serve.
