Chesapeake Beach is one of only two incorporated towns in Calvert County, and it has its own planning and zoning authority. Davis Construction & Home Improvement has remodeled kitchens throughout Chesapeake Beach, and the part most contractors trip on here is the order the permits go in.
We're MHIC-licensed (#118450), with 13 years in business and 30 years of experience. Call 240-794-2274 for a free estimate.
In Chesapeake Beach, most projects start with the town, not the county. The town's Zoning & Permitting office at Town Hall reviews the work and issues a zoning permit. Once the town approves it, the application moves on to Calvert County Inspections & Permits. Calvert County's own permit pages call this the Beach Application Approval and require it with the building permit package for homes inside town limits.
It isn't only for exterior work, either. The town's residential zoning permit form has boxes for interior additions, interior removal, and interior remove-and-replace. So a kitchen where a wall comes out or the layout changes goes through the town first.
Near the water there's one more layer. Maryland's Chesapeake Bay Critical Area covers land within 1,000 feet of tidal water, and the town's form asks whether the property is in it. A kitchen inside the existing walls usually isn't affected. An addition or bump-out is a different story, and we check your lot before planning one.
We also work in North Beach, Owings, and Dunkirk. See our kitchen remodeling in Calvert County page and the full list of areas we serve.
