The Town of Chesapeake Beach says most projects begin with the town's review before they go to Calvert County. Its residential zoning permit form isn't only for exterior work — it has boxes for interior removal and interior remove-and-replace.
Replacing floor covering by itself is the simple case. But when a flooring project includes taking out subfloor or framing, or it's part of a bigger interior renovation, we check with the town's Zoning & Permitting office first, then the county.
The town's form also asks whether the property is in the Chesapeake Bay Critical Area — land within 1,000 feet of tidal water. That matters for timing. Calvert County started an expedited review program on September 1, 2026, for interior renovations and some other residential work, but Critical Area projects aren't eligible. If your job needs a county permit and your lot is near the water, we plan on the standard review time.
We install Shaw Floors, Mohawk, Daltile, and Cali Bamboo, and order anything else through Build.com.
