Waldorf is the largest community in Charles County, and a big share of it is townhouses — Census Bureau survey estimates count more than 8,000 single-family attached homes in the Waldorf CDP, about one in four. Davis Construction & Home Improvement has replaced windows and doors throughout Waldorf and St. Charles, in townhouses and single-family homes alike.

Charles County's Department of Planning & Growth Management lists replacement of existing windows and doors, along with storm windows, doors, and screens, as work that doesn't need a residential permit. The same list says new openings require a building permit. So a like-for-like replacement can usually start as soon as the product arrives, while a new patio door cut into a wall goes through the county first, with building inspections done by Planchek, Inc.
Windows and doors change how the outside of a house looks, and in a townhouse row that matters to the association. In St. Charles, each village has its own Planning and Design Review Board, and the St. Charles architectural review FAQ says exterior changes that aren't on the village board's list must still be submitted to your neighborhood HOA for approval.
So before we order, we ask for your association's rules and give you the product specs your application needs.
We install Andersen windows and Supreme Aluminum products, with doors, hardware, and trim ordered through Build.com.
