We've remodeled bathrooms throughout Charles County — Waldorf and St. Charles, La Plata, Bryans Road, Indian Head, Hughesville, and White Plains. Projects range from a new vanity and tile floor in a hall bath to a full master suite with a walk-in shower.
In the St. Charles neighborhoods, a bathroom remodel rarely touches anything the homeowners association regulates. The usual exceptions are a new exterior vent for an exhaust fan or a window change, and we'll flag either one before work starts so an approval doesn't hold up the job.
Our bathrooms are built around Kohler fixtures and Onyx Collection shower surrounds and bases, with tile, vanities, and lighting to match.
Charles County's Department of Planning & Growth Management treats bathroom work in two parts. Its own guidance lists tile work and sinks and countertops as work that doesn't need a building permit — but plumbing is separate. Plumbing permits are pulled through the county's Citizen Self Service portal by a licensed plumber whose license number is on file with the county, so a new shower drain or a relocated toilet gets permitted and inspected.
The Charles County Health Department also runs its own pre-approval for building permits. For interior remodeling it asks for existing and proposed floor plans, and it notes that a septic inspection by a Maryland-licensed inspector is often required. On homes with septic, we build that step into the schedule from the start.
